HVAC – Back out and Trim Person

The back out and Trim person will follow Tinner’s Job sites (Tinner’s, installing all of duct work). They will also be responsible for cleaning up and gathering any and all extra parts. They will also bring extra parts back to the shop. They will install all the trip pieces of vent covers and grill and any other parts.

As part of their job, these professionals are responsible for installing air conditioning and ventilation equipment, designing and installing ducts and duct fittings, doing paperwork, adhering to company procedures, and following safety procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Selects type of material according to product being fabricated, knowledge of duct materials and job standards and specifications.
  • May do layout of fittings and duct, including manually locating and marking dimensions and reference lines on sheet metal, duct board, flex and duct pipe.
  • May receive equipment/materials at site.
  • May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment to join together copper tubing.
  • Install HVAC equipment, fans, grilles, dampers, wiring, and piping as directed.
  • May install assemblies in plant or work site according to blueprint specifications using hand tools and portable power tools. activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.
  • Repair or replace defective installed work.
  • Assists in training of new employees on installation related subjects.
  • Conducts non-installation work in support of the Fabrication Shop and Service Departments, as assigned.
  • Conforms to all applicable company Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs related duties as directed by the applicable Job Foreman or Project Manager.
  • Keep tools needed in trade up to date.
  • Cross training in refrigeration, piping and controls.Qualifications
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude.
  • Understand shop math.
  • Work skillfully with tools, duct materials and machines.
  • Visualize objects in three-dimensions from drawings, sketches or blueprints.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience doing trim and backout work required
  • Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)

  • Demonstrate an interest and initiative in maintaining his/her skills through a combination of self-study, company training, workshops, and other professional development activities.
